If Obama gets into a racial pissing match with the Clinton's it proves he doesn't care about winning
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 08:07 PM by billbuckhead
I'm more and more certain that :tinfoilhat:bama doesn't care about winning, just starting a movement that he can benefit from. The vast majority of Americans are going to think that if this black candidate is sliming the Clintons about race then who can he get along with? Certainly not middle America.

Here's an article, true I don't know but it's on the seemingly pro:tinfoilhat:bama Huffington Post.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Obama Camps's Memo on Clinton's Politicizing Race

Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign has prepared a detailed memo listing various instances in which it perceived Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign to have deliberately played the race card in the Democratic primary.

The memo, which was obtained by the Huffington Post and has been made public elsewhere, is believed to have been given to an activist and contains mostly excerpts from different media reports. It lists the contact info and name of Obama's South Carolina press secretary, Amaya Smith, and is broken down into five incidents in which either Clinton, her husband Bill, or campaign surrogates made comments that could be interpreted as racially insensitive.

Very publically in Novemeber 2007, Mrs :tinfoilhat:bama said black voters will wake up and get it. Imagine if Bill Clinton said the same thing or reversed saying white voters will wake up and get it?
Battle for black voters
CAMPAIGN '08 | Michelle Obama says they will 'wake up and get it'

November 13, 2007
LYNN SWEET blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/
WASHINGTON -- With polls showing African Americans yet to give overwhelming support to White House hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), his wife, Michelle, said "black America will wake up and get it" in an interview with MSNBC.
Michelle Obama predicted the surveys are "not going to hold," in an interview taped in Des Moines, Iowa, on Sunday to air this morning on MSNBC.

2. Well the hispanics won't vote for blacks anyway
That came from the Clinton campaign.

So how do you figure Obama is the one getting into a racial pissing match?

5. No, I think he wants to win and is not stupid
And will not get into a pissing match over race. I think he is smart enough to keep race out the the election although he is not blind to the race card being drawn by the Clinton's.

7. Right.
Barack Obama obviously has a huge chip on his shoulder. The hostility is just brewing, barely beneath the surface. I expect that during Tuesday's debate, he will be way out of control.

18. You're joking, right?
You don't really believe that Mrs Obama felt that she HAD to remind blacks that Obama was black.

13. wow, just wow.
you know, there are ways to handle an issue, and there are ways NOT to handle an issue. If you are getting your talking points from the Clinton campaign central, please, tell them to knock it off. The more you deny a charge of racism and then ATTACK the other opponent, the more firmly you cement in people's mind that the charges may be correct.

seriously, phone up Mark Penn or whoever and tell them to shove it.

Clinton is not my candidate, but this is a train wreck that reflects badly on all democrats.

21. no kidding.... Hillary Has Lost COntrol of Her Campaign
I remember this stuff, but only from the republican party. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised since her campaign uses Mark Penn. I will NEVER vote for her. Good job Hillary supporters, way to turn fellow Dems off. The corporate ties were bad enough, but this stuff? Geez.

14. If this would happen in the general election the pukes/M$M would frame it into a decisive backlash.
This is very divisive and will diminish our hopes for capturing the WH in November.

15. Playing the Race Card turns off Middle America. I t is a sure
way to divide the party. If anyone read TalkingPoints piece
this AM --actually have the party go separate ways. That piece
should be taken seriously.

I actually like Obama and saw much potential. I wondered if he
he really understood what he was getting into when he let
some talk him into getting into the race. American Politic never
has been nor will it be bean bag. The higher you move up in the
process the more vicious it becomes. I am low man on the totem
pole, but being an avid observer the years, can sometimes predict
the moves before they occur. Americans do not like Coronations
and dislike attempted coups even less. There is one lesson in
Politics that a lot of people had better learn. If you are going
to try to slay the King--you damn well had better not miss.
In other words sometimes it better to roll with the punches
than make serious mistakes. The GOP pracrice this pretty well.
If you are going after the king, you had better slay him. Through
years in life, I have never seen this truth not hold. Know the
power centers. Sometimes, I wonder.

19. WHAT is a 'racial pissing match'?
hells bells! i just recently figured out that the 'race card' card is the card thrown down when the person holding that hand doesn't want to talk about race, except in their own particular card holding way. now we're going to have racial pissing matches? it sounds distasteful to the extreme.

is the pissing match more conclusive than the race card?

20. Jesus, are you raving enough? I'd suggest a hobby that doesn't involve politics.
At least for a little while.

This kind of obsession isn't healthy, even during primary season.
