The Chocolate Migration
One of the best posts I have seen written about the effects of the Clintons swift-boating.

http://africanamericansfordemocracy.blogspot.com/2007/12/chocolate-migration.html

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I first cast a vote in 1988, and it was for Michael Dukakis against Geroge H.W. Bush. In the 19 years since I have never voted for a Republican in a partisan race. Ever. I have not voted for a Republican presidential candidate, Senatorial candidate, or Congressional candidate. I have not voted for a Republican governor, legislator, or mayor. I have not voted for a Republican city councilman, property valuation administrator or dog catcher. I have never, ever voted for a Republican, but if Hillary Clinton becomes the Democratic nominee then that may well change.

God help us all.

12. It was colossaly bad judgment, I will say, but not worth 4 years of Republican rule in spite.

6. The swiftboating OF the Clintons who are suddenly "racists"?
Obama is now making the vote a racial one. Nice uniting there, Obama.

Naturally the campaign of a white woman going into a Southern state would begin, for the very first time, making racially-charged remarks that would offend an extensive block of voters. It's all so logical.

Well, he had to do something with all those women taking up for her. Had to make sure black women knew exactly who they had to choose. Really, you can't blame him. NH was a hell of a shock. (I'm sorry, women would never become enraged enough to vote for a woman...it was clearly fraud.)

7. Well, this does tend to prove that...
blacks can be as stupid as whites.

Voting for Hucklebery over Hillary because he'll turn into a pseudo-liberal-- how fucking dumb is that?

13. Likely they won't--they'll vote 3rd party. But we'll be stuck with the spite for another 4 fucking
horrible, unitary executive, SCOTUS lockdown, terra-terra-terra years.

It's too awful to think about. :scared:

14. I might be wrong, but I can't help feeling that...
people who write screeds like that won't vote at all.

I have met a few people who, after all their screaming and whining, find themselves "above" voting. It's as though after making all their grand statements they can't accept any responsibility for what happens. If they don't vote, they can't be blamed for anything, and can't even blame themselves. They remain the "pure" observors of our decline, and are free to pontificate to us lower life forms who actually participate.

I suspect there are a lot more of them than we think, and it's not just the lazy and clueless who don't vote.
