Okay, so I've given up on America and want to relocate...
But I'm looking at the other countries on our planet and having a hard time deciding where I want to go. I'm thinking a Utopia on another planet might suffice. Gosh darnit, I don't have the technology or the material resources to find a suitable environment on another planet or in another galaxy. What's a girl to do?

for the winters....

although, with global warming, things might be improving in that dept.

Second choice would be UK or France. I could pick up French toute de suite.

37. not.. when the Helaine Thermalcline stops, Canada will soon be under 5 miles of ice again, and they
just discovered the reason the last ice age ended is that an asteroid hit the eastern side of the ice cap in Canada, that broke up the ice and initiated a quick melt.. if we can go green fast enough, the damage may be turned around in 400 to 600 years, if we wait a while to change, it may take 2000 to 4000 years, if we do nothing the climate may "tip" with a methane turn and we will have a situation like Venus with a temp of 200* raining sulphuric acid

5. I'm afraid that we are all in the same boat. In the end, the greatest
damage done by the Bush administration is that they have made millions of people sick mentally. In a sense, they have committed "political rape". Our psychiatric responses to their crimes are similar to those of rape victims.

Even under the best of future circumstances, it will take 100 years or more for people to regain their former state of mental well being.

The greatest therapy would be for Bush and his henchmen to be tried, convicted and punished for their war crimes, treason and damaging the mental welfare of the entire Country. Should that happen, and I don't predict that it will, millions would start recovering rapidly. We could start believing in our system again.

Think about how wonderful it would be to be able to respect and trust the President, the Supreme Court, Congress, the FBI, the CIA and the Justice Department.

20. I've thought about that, and have been wondering if...
the conditions for mental illness don't precede the Bush administration and that is a major part of the problem.

25. That's a very astute observation. I do believe that the origins
of the "illness" could have been traceable back much further. I only focused on the Bush administration because of the magnitude of their crimes.

Historically speaking, it is well known that Bush's grandfather was a Nazi collaborator. It is all historical fact that many Nazi propagandist were brought out of Germany after WWII by the Intelligence department to assist with certain initiatives have to do with the cold war. A number of those former Nazis were brought into the Republican Party by Nixon to assist with writing political papers.

The CIA for years has boasted that they had the "media in their pockets".

So, in answer to your good question, I think that those who were interested in taking over the U.S. government using well placed propaganda in the media had their main start after WWII, culminating into what we presently have which is a media that is mostly the propaganda arm of the Republican administration. On top of that they own the Supreme Court, Congress, Senate, Justice Department, FBI, CIA, and the majority of the right wing Christians.

America is under the control of a very small minority of individuals. The rest of us either know or at least sense the truth about this and feel mostly helpless to do anything about it.

I apologize for all of the items I've left out. But, I don't like long posts.

Which I consider a good thing by the way.

I have a big ole tin foil hat on my head so there is little to be posted that would throw me.

28. Hell yeah!
Didn't know that about you. This OP was a tongue in cheek post, but hubby is off to England yet again. (He's there one week out of every month.)

He made the mistake of telling me we might have a chance to live in GB for two-three months 2008 summer/fall.

I'm a fighter. I'd really prefer to kick American butt rather than cut and run. But the temptation. Oh....

24. Thanks, I'm going to look into it
I don't see a bright future if Edwards isn't elected. I feel that if either Clinton or Obama is nominated we will have another repub in the White House. Too many people think that this election will be a walk in the park for dems, and that's not the case. There are too many negatives for Clinton and Obama, and too many of the repubs sound rational. While many here think that the repubs sound insane or dumb, the average American voter will vote for them. Remember they only pay attention to a small part of the election process if any at all. And Huckabee was really good on Colbert, a few more repubs like that and people will forget that there is any connection with Bush and these people.

No place is without flaw or trouble so long as people live there. Stay and make here better.

That being said, I'd love to go live in Britain for a couple of months just for fun. Maybe one day.
