Need DU's opinion on resolving family voting dispute
My sister who is a Wisconsin resident is attending the University of Minnesota Law School.

With primaries coming up, Wisconsin with an open primary in February goes well before Minnesota's closed March caucus.

My father's position is that your legal residence should coincide with your student status(Wisconsin students pay less), but I am the opinion that registering in Minnesota is more logical because supporting Al Franken is of paramount importance, especially since her home congressional district is Tammy Baldwin's and thus quite safe.

Should I further advocate my position or just say the hell with it? Does Iowa have a tuition reciprocity agreement with Illinois and has the fallout from the high youth turnout settled?

2. Four years ago, Kerry barely won Wisconsin.
My impression is that Minnesota is a more reliably blue state on the presidential level.

Still, I think your argument about Al Franken is compelling. I vote Minnesota.
