Flashback: Kerry Blasted Edwards Over Foreign Policy Experience In '04
January 10, 2008 10:21 AM

From CNN, 7/6/04: http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/07/06/kerry.edwards/index.html

During the primary campaign, Kerry himself took aim at Edwards' lack of foreign policy experience, noting at one point that when he returned home from serving in Vietnam in 1969, "I don't even know if John Edwards was out of diapers."

But Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, a South Dakota Democrat, defended Edwards' experience Tuesday, noting that he "has a lot more Washington experience than George Bush had four years ago."

"When you look at what John Edwards has done for working families, for people who have been fighting hard all their lives to make ends meet, I can't think of a more qualified candidate than John Edwards," Daschle said.

1. I guess Kerry has either "evolved" or "flip flopped."
Maybe he should apologize to Edwards now.....it seems to be the new political requirement.

4. I really don't know where Barack stands on the issues.

Does he or does he not support gays?
He says one thing, but his actions bely his words. There is no explanation for his allowing Donnie McClurkin the opportunity to spew his lies at an Obama function.

Does he or does he not really want to bring about change? He says he does, but he's taking BIG MONEY from the very parties who are benefiting the most from today's business climate. How is he going to cut their profits to make things better for the American people when he's so indebted to them? They won't let him get away with that, and he knows it. They will not relinquish their power so easily.

Is Barack truly a progressive?
I wonder, because he threw his support to Joe Lieberman in the Senate race primary. Yes, he supported Ned Lamont in the general, but I really do question his judgment on Lieberman. After all, this was well after the Lieberman/Bush/GOP love fest started. Many of us here at DU knew which side of Lieberman's bread was buttered, so why didn't Barack?

Kerry bailed on all of us after the 2004 elections, proving that our votes didn't really matter at all.

So, Kerry and Obama might be a pretty good fit after all.

5. He certainly hasn't gained any more foreign policy experience since he left his part-time Senate gig

7. I supported John Kerry in 2004 and I'm here to tell you that
today I think John Forbes Kerry is one of the most low class, no class disgusting sons of bitches I've ever had the pleasure of not meeting in person. Oh, wait, I *did* meet him in person, but very briefly.

He reminds me of a lot of men I've known over the years, the ones who marry a woman who will do things for their career, who have money or connections, who will work to put them through school, women they can take advantage of, but they never really care about these women. And then when the career never really takes off or the senior partnership doesn't materialize or the kids just aren't as bright and wonderful as expected, these guys ditch the wife they never really cared about in the first place and pick up some brainless young thing to make themselves look good. It never works, boys, it never works.

Kerry should have kept his mouth shut. He should know that his endorsement has little positive value: He's a loser who couldn't stand up to the swift boat liars and didn't fight for the voters of Ohio. If he thinks he's "helping" Obama, well, more power to him I suppose. But he essentially s(p)at on his former running mate, and that's a low class thing to do.

Piss on you, John Kerry, piss on you.

Tansy Gold, who thinks it's much better to be pissed off than pissed on

8. Is Gore low class because he "spat " on Lieberman?
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 02:18 PM by ProSense
I think this comment is pathetic and sour grapes.

"If he thinks he's "helping" Obama, well, more power to him I suppose."

I think that was the point of the endorsement.

"Kerry should have kept his mouth shut."

Why? To save you from writing this pathetic post?

"He should know that his endorsement has little positive value"

So why does it matter this much to you?

Lots of sour grapes for making whine!

Here are some insights about one of the greatest Senators ever: A true progressive, from day one in the Senate.

9. Tansy Gold, I'm with you
John Kerry sat on his gigantic warchest, long after it was clear to him and his handlers that any run in 2008 was disastrous.

To say that I am sick at heart I donated one cent to his campaign is an understatement, and he's now handed over my e-mail address and those contributions to a candidate I do not believe is qualified?

I hope he enjoyed his moment of revenge. I believe it will haunt him for quite some time to come.

Julie
