In Rochester, NH, Obama was shouted down for about 5 minutes by a group of abortion protesters. He was taken aback a little by the protest. He is on C-SPAN at the moment.

I've been to several and I can tell you that while Dems don't deny entrance to anyone (Republicans demand those loyalty oaths), they do exercise strict controls over signs and audience participation. At a Kerry rally I attended in '04, a small group of Bushies pulled out banners and started hollering. They were quickly escorted off the premises. It really is a safety issue. These are emotionially charged events with packed crowds. If a fight breaks out, people can get killed.

Let's not get upset and start putting protesters in free speech zones blocks away from the speaker they wish to protest. They could be pro-choice and the speaker could be Mitt Romney.
