2. Every election I ever voted in they all promised "change".
It was the status quo long before any of us was even a twinkle in our grandma's eye, I suspect.

3. Until we know exactly what the change is--we do not know what
to expect, therefore you will not know if the change took place or not.

Knowing our experience with congress, I do not hold my breath.

4. Not enough choices
I'd say about 10. Thirty-five is too long, although I thought a generation at first -- 25 years, perhaps. I'm judging this in light of the acceptance of gays today. The Episcopal church has been openly accepting of gays for many, many years. I noticed it around the time a few years before our church ordained a female bishop -- in Utah, yet. And our former bishop came out of the closet. But the general acceptance of gays, people saying live and let live, has only been noticeable, to me at least, for the past ten years.
