12. Tried to get tickets.. Impossible for average guy..
I live in Carson, this event is taking place about 10 blocks from where I live. It's a shame that only the heaviest contributors to NV Dems and insiders have a shot at tickets. I know 2 dozen people who tried to get tickets (from the beginning) and failed.

So a bunch of my more affluent and connected neighbors get to go.

Whoopie.

But I think it's because it would be much harder for Obama to win in Nevada than in Iowa, Iowa is more important than Nevada, and by skipping this forum to campaign in Des Moines, he has garnered a TON of positive free media in Iowa.

74. David Geffen was quoted as saying some negative things
about Hillary, in defending his donation to Obama. (He said she comes with too much baggage basically and that Bill didn't behave responsibly when he was president.) Hillary's camp has said Obama should denounce Geffen's statement and give back the money, he's refused at this point.

It's already getting nasty out there ...

80. He had a great one-liner at the DNC meeting
Something like, "We have big problems in this country. We've got the Iraq war, we need to be energy independent, middle class is going away. Well, I can solve all those problems in three words: A DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT" (or it may have been "A Democrat in the White House"). He's really a relaxed speaker, very easy-going and confidence-inspiring.

Like I said, all these candidate are making me a Democratic Proud today :patriot:

Do you suppose we can sign up DUers to take the "I will not bash other candidates" pledge? :toast:

Know what, I can't believe how lucky we are, as American citizens and voters to watch this live today. The cable news networks are jacking off to Anna Nicole's (RIP) decaying body, and Britany. :banghead:

This is OUR FUTURE! Thank you Cspan :D

101. I agree.. they've ALL done great today!

It would be nice if we could all agree on a "candidates pledge" and not bash our least favorites..

.... but = sigh =

More than likely it will be.. ...until after our nominee is selected.

Eventually though.. once we have our nominee.. this place will come together BIG TIME.

114. I would*, unfortunately by the time I get to vote
the candidate is already chosen. Though that may change this time if CA gets an earlier primary. I just don't see Dennis making it to the final 'run-off'. Not because he's no good....but because he's too good - if you know what I mean.

*That is.....unless Gore runs.

118. That's funny, cause I would support Gore also, if he runs. Here's my
take on the Kucinich candidacy.

We have (now) 3 so called top tier candidates, but they are all basically status quo in terms of political outlook. So they will divvy up that segment of the Dem voters, say 60%of the total cast, and each receive around 20% or so.

If Kucinich can because the consensus progressive (single payer fee for service health care, voted against the war and against funding the war)candidate, then he could manage around 30% of the Dem vote.

That would put him in very good shape going into a brokered convention. Even if he doesn't come out as the nominee, he could throw some serious weight and make some deals to get the best of the rest in, and many platform plank concessions.

So spread the word!
