Wins South Carolina
Third in Michigan
Fourth in Arizona
Third in Delaware
Second in Missouri
Fourth in New Mexico
Fourth in North Dakota
Second in Oklahoma
Third in Washington
Fourth in Maine
Second in Tennessee
Second in Virginia
Fourth in DC
Second in Wisconsin
Third in Hawaii
Second in Idaho
Second in Utah
Second in California,Connecticut,Georgia,Maryland, Mass,Minesota,NY,Ohio,RI

Then on Thursday, March 4th:
(03-04) 04:00 PST Washington -- North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, who inspired Democrats with his call to end poverty and made the outsourcing of American jobs overseas a central campaign issue, ended his bid for the presidency Wednesday with a fervent plea to his supporters to rally behind....

Not predictions... These are the primary placements for Edwards in the 2004 election *before* he dropped out. He was using public financing then, as well.

Think his campaign is finished with a second in Iowa and a second/third in NH in 2008? I don't think so.

On edit: Added "Think his campaign is" to the last question to avoid ambiguity.

1. Sorry to pop your bubble, but in MI
we can only vote for Hillary or uncommitted as neither Obama nor Edwards will allow write-ins. IF we do write in, the votes will not be counted. On the front page today of the Detroit News.

I don't know about the rest of the states, but here,....well, it's either HRC or uncommitted. I am going uncommitted for my own personal reasons as are a lot of my other friends as well. I hate to waste a vote, but no thanks to Hillary.

2. Please read the OP. My bubble is not burst.
This post was for the people that think John Edwards will be dropping out if he doesn't win NH.

4. I am not so sure.
I can see him with lots of seconds and competitive thirds and staying right up with the front runner in delegates.

6. Thank you. I think many don't get the point I am trying to make...
which means I am not making it effectively, I know.

Edwards is a fighter.

12. Absolutely he is. I doubt even some of his supporters realize how hard he's fighting
And I still think he has a shot at the nomination.

13. As much money as Obama and Clinton have...
I can see them fighting to the convention. If Edwards simply takes third place in each primary he will have MORE than enough delegates to broker the convention... and I think his message will win some and place second more often than he places third.

I don't see any advantage to him dropping out of the race unless Clinton or Obama get the "magic number" of delegates. I am not sure that either of those campaigns can get such a resounding lead in delegates that the other will drop out before the convention.
