4. Ever since the story came out, I have been troubled by ALL of the

photographs and videos. It just doesn't make sense. Why would these troops, even if they believed all of the stuff about breaking down people who had apparently already demonstrated that they didn't know anything useful, WHY IN HELL would there be so many photographs? If you're doing something weird and strange and possibly il-legal why create evidence? There's another big problem for me and that is (I taught high school for 10 years - have known all kinds of people) I just don't believe that level of weirdness would be that common amongst American troops.

One hypothesis I came up with was: You could give the photos to Iraqi collaborators and they could use them to coerce cooperation out of the resistance, by claiming the photos were evidence that ____________ is a pervert, acquired serendipitously while _______________ was in prison. Someone on this board told me recently that there is a British Intelligence officer saying as much (have not seen a cite yet). This would explain why they were taking sooooooo many photographs of folks who didn't know anything. It is possible that the U.S. Army got some very bad private psy-ops advice.
