2. The NIE took the wind out of the neocons sail
while they tried to discredit it - they only looked even crazier. I don't think it is possible for the admin to pull off an attack, now - regardless of how badly dick and george want one.

5. People were certain a false flag would initiate the move...
But that's been the concern re just about anything this regime may want to accomplish. After all, it worked rather well with 9/11.

3. It was/is clearly a goal of some, so it's not as though the idea was pulled from thin air
I'd like to, perhaps foolishly, believe that the more widespread debate around this issue, in part, stemmed from so much online concern/debate ... and that it helped to encourage more people to be alert to the aims of the regime and their potential actions, overt or covert. The more light shed on their secrecy the harder it may be - within reason - for them to get their way. {?}

4. I believe events out of our control took that option off the table for them
the nie, the flying of nuclear bombs across the country illegally and some more that I can't at the moment remember. Not much of a chance it will happen now unless the Iranians do something stupid to give bushco an excuse

7. I miss those posts
it was fun watching people with no understanding of the military predict attacks. Fun in the way that watching someone fall down a staircase is fun. I think the overall tactic was that as long as a few threads per day were posted about it, sooner or later, one of them would be right, and everyone would applaud the brilliance of the OP for predicting it while ignoring the 500 threads that missed. Kinda like Nostradamus (sp?). If you make a shitload of vauge predictions, you'll be right sooner or later.

9. Notice also how all of the posts about Iranian criminal justice have disappeared?
Yet we were supposed to think that there was nooooooooooo connection between the sudden concern for Iranians' civil rights and the Neocons' bloodthirst and constant lobbying for more blood to be shed.
