Tens of thousands flee Kenya violence as death toll tops 300
NAIROBI Thomson Financial - Tens of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes amid brutal post-election violence in Kenya that had claimed at least 300 lives by Wednesday and threatens to descend into full-scale tribal conflict.

Yesterday, at least 35 children and adults sheltering in a church near the western town of Eldoret were burnt alive by an angry mob in the worst incident since the December 27 presidential elections, which were narrowly won by the incumbent Mwai Kibaki amid allegations of vote-rigging by his defeated opposition challenger, Raila Odinga.

The violence is the worst Kenya has witnessed since a failed 1982 coup.

The victims of Tuesday's blaze were among some 400 people who had taken refuge in the church in order to escape escalating tribal clashes, survivors and police said.

They said an angry mob doused the Kenya Assemblies of God Church with petrol before lighting it.

2. It has
in order for the bush/cheney team to create an atmosphere where they could have any legitimacy opened the door, hell blew the damn door off, to others such as themselves who will rule by fear. We can never expect the world as a whole to ever get back to what was before until we do something about the original perpetrators of all this madness. bush/cheney needs and have to be brought down and soon, the world can't wait much longer for us to start getting it right.

4. I can't blame it all on them (even though I would like too)
There are many things happening which do not involve them. There are lots of bad people in the world and not everything revolves around the US.

It seems to me so many things are happening at the same time..perhaps it is the normal cycle of things, but it really seems as though the world has gone mad.

6. In most of these cases, People are fighting Oppression.
The neo-cons are not responsible for everything that has gone on, but, they are a symptom of the same problem.

Power to rule the many/poor, by the few/wealthy. The People of this world, and We are all the same People, want to rule Ourselves. The Few in power do not want to give it up and turn to oppression and suppression of rights to maintain and expand control.

7. I'm saying they were a big contributer to the mess the world is in today
its not totally their fault but without them the world wouldn't be quite so mad today. A lot of the fault can be lain at their feet IMO

3. More and more people competing for scarcer and scarcer resources...
I'm not much of a doom-and-gloom kinda person, but I have a feeling that it's going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.

12. Just more of the contunued undermining and destabilization of
the planet by the United States in order justify current and future resources wars as our government seeks to control the dissolution of civilization as Peak Oil tightens its grip.
