We can no longer thrive on bad news
Democrats are in control and repairing the damage caused over the past 7 years.

Causalities in Iraq are at their lowest ever in December compared to every single other prior month (http://icasualties.org/oif).

Both the Dow and NasDaq have risen steadily since '06, nothing extreme, but nevertheless easily visible if you look at a long term chart.

Maybe it is better to complain, so that that way, people will pay more attention to current affairs. But I think we have to attribute the positive trends since '06 to the national Democratic sway in attitude.

1. They just drafted a 50 year old
The multinational DOW has nothing to do with the US anymore.

Don't look now, but everything else is in the toilet.
