Dem Candidate Health Care Plans, Uncensored with No Commercials.
Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 05:35 PM by Mike03
XM's ReachMD channel 157 for health professionals is running a special series of interviews with candidates regarding their health care plans, and it is fascinating.

It's also very revealing to see who and who did not elect to participate in this series:

Participants: Kucinich, Biden, Richardson and Edwards on the Democratic side.

McCain is the only repuke who participated.

At least, after listening to this series for about a month, these are the only candidates I have heard.

They run about one of these an hour--fifteen minute segments, and they do run them repeatedly (sometimes, ad nauseum). I know fifteen minutes doesn't sound like a lot of time, but it really is. The announcer just inroduces them, and the rest of the time is just them speaking, uninterrupted.

I really like what all three of our guys have to say. Edwards says "no compromise" on Universal Health care--that it is the one thing he refuses to compromise on. Biden is as thoughtful, realistic and eloquent as always. He says quite honestly that Iraq is his priority, but he will introduce legislation immediately to get the ball rolling on increased coverage, which will become all encompassing over time. Kucinich is a fantastic emblem of hope and determination: a visionary. I would not be ashamed to have any one of them in office. I've only heard portions of Richardson's interview, so I don't feel comfortable commenting, but he also seems highly intelligent and very decent.

McCain, as usual, just doesn't get it. He's so lost, so confused, so senile and so out of touch with the middle class. I'll tell you why McCain things our health care is the greates in the world: Because he goes to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, which puts the resorts of France to shame in terms of its luxuries. It is a fantastic place, truly, but it is probably too hospital/clinics in the world.

I have to say, after Iraq, health care is the most important issue to me personally.

For what it's worth, XM 157 has become my favorite XM channel. Anyone fascinated by medicine, caregiving or breaking news in pathogenesis will appreciate this channel.
