Pakistan government goes after Benazir's alleged assassin
Pakistani security agencies have prepared a plan to eliminate militant leader Baitullah Mehsud, who is believed to be linked to al-Qaeda.

Interior Ministry sources say security agencies are are planning to find and liquidate Baitullah after receiving evidence about his involvement in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

The Pakistan Government will have to give the go-ahead in this regard, but Pakistan's ARY channel has reported the operation will be carried out in South Waziristan, North Waziristan and certain other tribal areas.

Even though Baitullah has denied any role in the assassination, the Pakistan Government has already blamed his followers for the December 27th suicide attack.

On the weekend, Interior Ministry spokesman Javed Cheema said: 'Baitullah may deny his involvement in the murder, but we have solid evidence that he was behind the killing.'

1. So wait. If she was NOT assassinated, as the government itself is insisting....

How can they go after the assassin? Or is that where the "alleged" comes in to play?

Sorry, I'm a tad

And what is with this "liquidate"? Do they actually mean "assassinate"? Without a trial, merely on the head of state's say-so? Wow, they are more like the United States than I would have thought.

10. They simply aren't as skilled at cover-ups as the neoCons are.
You'd think they'd have had a seminar at the Heritage Foundation or something, but apparently not.

9. No. I didn't see that.
I did see her husband and son along with doctors CAREFULLY suggesting oppressive actions AGAINST investigation of her death.

Meanwhile, ALL sorts of bullshit is being proferred (OH, SHE DIED HITTING A SUNROOF HANDLE :puke:).

Now, as has been for all HUGE CRIMES in the last AWEFUL SEVEN YEARS, this event will be buried with media-focused ads on,...any circus.

5. A little perspective on the ISI's role in Pakistan.
The Assassination of Benazir Bhutto

Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi, no ordinary city. Rawalpindi is a military city host to the headquarters of the Pakistani Armed Forces and Military Intelligence (ISI). Ironically Bhutto was assassinated in an urban area tightly controlled and guarded by the military police and the country's elite forces. Rawalpindi is swarming with ISI intelligence officials, which invariably infiltrate political rallies. Her assassination was not a haphazard event.

Without evidence, quoting Pakistan government sources, the Western media in chorus has highlighted the role of Al-Qaeda, while also focusing on the the possible involvement of the ISI.

What these interpretations do not mention is that the ISI continues to play a key role in overseeing Al Qaeda on behalf of US intelligence. The press reports fail to mention two important and well documented facts:

1) the ISI maintains close ties to the CIA. The ISI is virtually an appendage of the CIA.

2) Al Qaeda is a creation of the CIA. The ISI provides covert support to Al Qaeda, acting on behalf of US intelligence.

The involvement of either Al Qaeda and/or the ISI would suggest that US intelligence was cognizant and/or implicated in the assassination plot.

11. Mushy's days are numbered.
It may be a coup, he may get wise and disappear. He can't survive much longer. If he goes ahead with elections now, he loses. If he postpones elections, he'll incite more anger. If he wins elections, they'll revolt. If he returns to Martial Law, they'll revolt.

His options are bad and worse.

15.  Like Bush went after Iraq or Saddam was hung
It's the same old story packed with lies and a scape goat . No one will ever know the truth who was behind this , no one other than the ones who planned it and were involved .
