Cab Driver Killed While Helping Motorist

HOUSTON -- A cab driver was killed while he helped a motorist who was involved in a single-vehicle wreck, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Houston police said the cab driver saw an overturned sport utility vehicle on the southbound feeder road of the North Freeway near Werner Street at about 3:10 a.m. Monday.

Detectives said the cab driver called 911 and stopped to help the driver. A passing SUV, driven by Micaela Elizabeth Liem, hit the cab driver, officials said. The cab driver was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died.

Officials said the driver of the overturned SUV was not injured.

that when you see a wreck, you get into the next lane or at least slow down? It's the state law in several places, Texas included.
