1. Direct From The 12th Century
Direct from the 12th century --

The One, The Only --

Mike Huckabee!!!!

He does not believe in evolution.

He believes that a person's sexuality is a matter of choice!

He wants to be your president!!

24. It's America's choice to reject these kinds of candidates
They obviously made the wrong choice in 2000 and 2004.

Let's hope this time they get it right.

29. I just can't conceive of a list of problems long enough to include "who someone loves"
It staggers my brain ... since that's something that sounds more like a solution than a problem. Sheesh!

9. My guess is that it's a "choice" he struggles with every day
and if he ever gave in to those unchristian urges, he'd be hooked for life, gay sex being more addictive than crack cocaine.

I think most phobes are at least bi, which is why they keep getting caught soliciting cops in men's rooms and highway rest areas.

So for them, yeah, it's a choice. They make everybody around them miserable in the process. I know women who married these guys and they always wonder what's wrong with themselves: are they too fat, too skinny, too brunette, too flat chested, too busty, too what? They never seem to realize the problem is HIM.

10. Yes, according to Huckabee "we" have certain tendencies.
Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 12:12 PM by BleedingHeartPatriot
And, "we" can choose whether or not to act on them, blah, blah, QUICK CHANGE THE SUBJECT TO FAITH.

Sheesh. :eyes:

I don't know whether people are born that way. People who are gay say that they're born that way. But one thing I know, that the behavior one practices is a choice. We may have certain tendencies, but how we behave and how we carry out our behavior--but the important issue that I want to address, because I think when you bring up the faith question, Tim, I've been asked more about my faith than any person running for president.

Dear God, please deliver us from repressed, self-loathing "men of the cloth". Amen.

8. Hey!
I love Curious George - it's insulting to make a comparison between a sweet little monkey and an evil stupid one! LOL!!!!!

That said - I wonder if Huckabee sent a note to The Dick telling The Dick that his daughter made a choice to be gay?

I just can't see a hetero guy being liberated enough to wear a yellow hat.

12. He did not say that it was a choice.
He said he didn't know. He gave the traditional right wing religious line: it is not the condition we abhor, it is acting on it.

I'm not a Huck fan. He scares me almost as much as Rudy does. But spreading lies about him makes us look like them.

Stick to the facts.

18. Choosing to "act" on the "tendency", is the choice, per Huckster.
Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 01:51 PM by BleedingHeartPatriot
Sounds like once one "chooses" to act, that is when one becomes officially gay, under his so called logic.

So, he has found a way to call it a choice, without actually committing to whether one is born that way.

What a f***ing con artist. MKJ

14. He's not that different than Bush
He avoids talking about it, says he doesn't know... but everyone assumes he agrees with them. But for some reason the media never trashed Bush with his former life of booze, cocaine, AWOL, DUIs, girlfriends with abortions, torture at the fraternity, you name it. This year we should dig up every piece of dirt on this repukes and keep it out in the open air for all to see what hypocrites they are.

21. Willful stupidity combined with vile hatefulness would be better.
Ignorance implies they didn't know better, that they lack the information. While people have a right to their opinion this is no longer an opinion and it only serves to hurt and divide.

32. Fundies just don't get it
To them "___sexuality" equals going out and actually having sex. They don't see an orientation as an indicator of who you're attracted to; they see it as performing the actual deed, which would truly be a choice.

It's why they see bi people as "promiscuous by definition" -- focusing on the deed itself rather than as an attraction.

Just shows how fixated they are on the act of sex itself. Sick, sick people.

35. He's Trying To "Close The Sale"
I have a feeling the Huckster has a checklist...wingnut memes to hit on...people to exploit...codewords to be spoken and votes to be milked.

There was the raising of the hand when asked about evolution. Then the attacks on Mitten's magic underware. Then he goes out and duck hunts and now he trashes gays. Looks to me like he's hitting on the God, Gays and Guns vote.

Now I'm curious if any Repugnican has a spine to denounce this bullshit.
