1. Nothing could make me watch such filth
I have lived all my life in the deep, dark south amongst these monsters. I don't need to watch a movie to know what they're like. The only way you can shut them up is to out-Bible them, which, given their intrinsic stupidity, is not difficult.

6. I have seen short excerpts from it on YouTube, etc.
And, you're right, of course, they should be laughed at whenever possible. :hi:

10. Notice how lily white this group is
Makes you wonder what they teach the kids about race.

2. Except, of course, that he really didn't.
The Inquisition tried him for heresy and he was forced on pain of possible execution to recant his writings establishing the, um, FACT that the earth revolves around the sun. He never gave up scientific research.

The fundies scare me. They are the new Inquisition -- or, at least, they'd like to be.

8. Smart Christians know that science exists in its own domain
And that faith and science can only commingle in the belief that God is the ultimate scientist.

But there aren't that many smart Christians.

12. Perhaps there are
My little corner of the world is populated by many fundies. I should remember there's a much bigger world out there. My parents are Christians - smart Christians - but they seem such a tiny minority here on the buckle of the Bible Belt. Sometimes I just despair of reason holding back the darkness.
