Poll question: Of the Three Leading Iowa Candidates, Who Has the Most Stabilizing Potential First Spouse?
Edited on Fri Dec-28-07 02:06 PM by CorpGovActivist
Which of the three leading contenders for First Spouse do you think would offer the most stabilizing influence, should his/her spouse be the nominee and eventual victor in the general?

These are listed in alphabetical order, by last name.

Thanks for registering your opinion, and please comment on your choice, if you wish.

I can both believe that corporations are heavily involved in the political process, AND think that DK should remain in the House - where he does a fine job on a good many issues, AND shake my head in wonderment at his spouse.

9. DK should remain in the House?
So we will continue to have the insurance companies control our health care? They will continue to kill Americans and run us into the ground. If you understand the the corporate control of our country, how can you be for anyone but Kucinich?

And as for his wife, some of us choose our spouse because of WHO they are, the soul within...

"All wrens are birds."

"All birds are wrens."

Non sequitur: it does not follow.

"And as for his wife, some of us choose our spouse because of WHO they are, the soul within"

No argument there; some of us are blessed to have partners whose beauty is both within and without.

Edwards supports and is supported by Corporations. He will continue the status quo of corporate control of our government.

10. How I am supposed to know that? I only know what they and the media want to tell me.
I said Michele Obama because she seems to want it less than the two other ones, so it may keep his feet to the ground, if I may say, but frankly, I could not care less.

15. Stabilizing?
Edited on Fri Dec-28-07 03:26 PM by undeterred
When I met Bill Clinton there were a crowd of frenzied women around me.

When I met Michelle Obama she was in front of a grocery store collecting signatures for her husband to run for congress, so I voted for her. I've heard she's very down to earth and smarter than he is.

I haven't met Mrs. Edwards.

even as presidential candidate. When I met her he was a University of Chicago law school professor. That was 1999. I voted for him for Congress and he lost. I moved away from Illinois to Wisconsin and forgot about him. Suddenly he's Senator Obama from Illinois running for president- what the heck! Then I remembered that when I met his wife, he had never been elected to office, he was a professor. It seemed like a fast rise to fame.

I think she'd keep his feet on the ground in the White House, yes. But I don't know if he's ready yet. He's obviously a very smart man, I just am not in a hurry for him to be president.

30. Jon Stewart's Treatment of the Spouse Summit That Maria Shriver ...
... hosted was hilarious, especially the segment featuring Obama's facial reaction to an inadvertent reference to spouse swapping.

I had to give her high marks for a very spontaneous, comical, and natural reaction.

But I share your sense of "what's the rush?" about Obama.

For one thing, it presumes that a president needs a spouse who acts as a stabilizing influence.

... the trend suggests that the Edwards camp should run some last-minute ads in Iowa featuring Mrs. Edwards.
