to my experience at my daughter-in-law's mother's christmas day celebration today ... the family had gathered to celebrate christmas ... a celebration mostly dedicated to our 7 months old grandchild's first christmas, which also included other nieces and nephews of my daughter-in-law (her mother's other grandchildren) ... it was all going well, i thought, until my daughter-in-law's step-father said something about we had just experienced all of our winter season here in souht florida last week when the temperatures dipped down to the 50s in the early mornings. I said, well, usually January and February are the coldest months for South Florida due to melting ice from Canada moving South and cooling off the waters around here, then i added, i don't know this year, however, whether this will hold true, or not, due to the fact that pretty much much ice has already melted from the polar ice cap and/or canada .... the step-father interrupted me, and said, "you can come here and be positive ..." i didn't hear the rest because i interrupted him and said, "what? you don't believe in global warming?" i really don't know what answer he gave me but he changed the subject quite quickly.
and quite shortly after that ... i simply unjoined the party and said, "may you all have a merry Christmas our dog is waiting for us... we have to go home."

1. "...our dog is waiting for us...we have to go home."
Classic!

There's no talking to folks with their heads so far up their butts. There was a time when my mother & I could at least talk about the weather, but it got where we couldn't even talk about that. :eyes:
