Poll question: In April, 2004, Matthew Rothschild, Editor of the Progressive...
...penned an editorial (linked below) in which he picked out specific language used by President Bush concerning the free hand our troops were to be given in Iraq, from a press conference he had given the previous day, and identified this language as "a signal for slaughter."

Only seven months later, in November that same year, and immediately following our national elections here in the States, U.S. troops sealed off the city of Falluja and proceeded, via massive aerial bombardment and a subsequent ground invasion that would include a thorough and systematic house-to-house slaughter operation, to mercilessly massacre ALL inhabitants (men, women, and children).

To date, it is believed that over a million Iraqi civilians have been killed and several million more displaced (made desperate refugees) as a result of our illegal occupation/invasion.

My question is this: Do you believe that this same kind of wholesale slaughter and mass population displacement, if not by invasion and occupation then some other means, is also our Ruling Class' plan for Iran?

And secondly, if so, and we're somehow able to visit this same fate upon Iran, do you believe it will stop there?

---SNIP---

He gave only a pro forma nod toward the additional innocent Iraqis the United States may kill in the process. "We will continue taking the greatest care to prevent harm to innocent civilians; yet we will not permit the spread of chaos and violence," he said. "I have directed our military commanders to make every preparation to use decisive force, if necessary, to maintain order and to protect our troops."

He reiterated this point later, saying, "Our commanders on the ground have got the authority necessary to deal with violence, and will--and will in firm fashion."

Here is the President warning that U.S. troops, who have already killed more than 600 Iraqis in the last week, will have a free hand.

That is a signal for slaughter.

1. Of course these killers want to do the same thing to Iran. And stop there?
Nope. There's still Syria to go.

6. Yes, No.
Which is why I'm firmly behind every candidate that is firmly opposed to this bullshit.

...those candidates that can be relied upon to feed the perpetual war for perpetual peace machine.

If one of the Neocon nominees or Hillary end up in the White House this shit isn't going to end.

8. That's a point,
but I will not allow the MSM to dictate my vote, or to influence my vote in any way.

Change has to start with me, and with each one of us.

9. I don't watch much MSM any more...
...I had no clue how bad they actually are until their amazing whitewash/silence following the election theft of 2000. I was just stunned by that.
