Less Gift Giving: One of the unexpected byproducts of our new divisive society:
Sometimes, life has a way of finding a balance when things get out of kilter, but you can only learn from it if you're brave enough to see the signs. I can only speak for my family, but it sure does seem to be reflected in our new divisive society where money and politics now create so many isolated worlds, that there is an after-effect reflected by less-consumerism. I see less gift giving, because you have less friends to give to.

In order of priority, the young kids get the most, as well they should be, because adults want to keep them sheltered as long as they can. And parents, aunts and uncles, especially those in their golden years are well-remembered. Friends who have made an immediate impact may get a nice giftie. But gone are the days when you walk across the way to give your neighbor a bottle of your homemade eggnog. Those are cut. Newspaper delivery people, Service people, siblings who pissed you off. Almost all your co-workers, Teachers. Everyone that once was on the list, is now cut.

And you know who suffers the most? The very greedy ass people who wanted this kind of society from the beginning. They thought by starving the labor force to give more to the top 1% would somehow stimulate the economy, but what they forgot was this: When the mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. If money isn't coming into the house, it ain't going out. So the shops suffer and they can thank the Republican policies and corporatism that gave them all they asked for.
