running for president anymore is not about uncovering a gallery of accomplishments.
these days running for president is about smearing an opponent, spinning the facts, tearing down an opponent's record, rather than building up your own. it is a dirty shitty game. i don't know if all this ugliness started with the bushes, but in my recollection, poppy's smears against dukakis are emblazoned as the trigger that let all the cockroaches out and all the ugliness of politics on to the stage ... sad. indeed.

Any Bush legacy=lies, lies, and more lies.

1. One thing we can all agree on
Bush sucks and so did his father. I hope a Bush never ever again gets to run for public office in this country.

2. I think I see it as starting with nixon and his merry gang of crooks
of which we still have some of them making our lives as misserable as they can in this mal-administration of bush/cheney. The sad part is we had them pretty much caught dead to their crimes but for some reason someone's turned them all loose.

3. " Ma Ma, where's your Pa...gone to the White House..ha ha ha "
1884.. this stuff has been going on forever. Republicans went after Cleveland on charges that he had fathered a child out of wedlock with a prostitute.
Nothing new... just new voters and people who think that their time must be the worst ever. It's not.

5. I think a major point of running for office IS to note another's bad voting record. It IS politics!

A logical question would be, if one is claiming how he/she will improve "things": From what starting point? How has the incumbent/opponent NOT improved "things"?
