8. Look around you for a woman with a black eye or the death toll from drunk drivers
Alcohol is a poison for both the body and the mind.

11. And you think no one will assault other people and there will be no death from car accidents
if people can't have alcohol?

I think alcohol is one of the furthest things from a poison for body or mind.

16. alcohol in moderation has some health benefits if any number of studies I have read on the subject
are to be believed. but I get the gist of what you're saying about the little tyrant. the problem is always, no matter what the issue is, lack of self control. many have it whereas some don't

I quit drinking to excess a couple three years ago but still have a drink from time to time because of some of the studies I have read about the benefits for cardio vascular disease's.

9. Sounds about as silly as mine:
Forcing all public sporting events to be "not for profit" where the atheletes make low six figure salaries, general income is to pay for the maintenance of the grounds administrative and other employee overhead and all remaining profits are funneled into the educational system.

Turn that rich man's hobby into a public improvement and the distraction into a better educated public...

Hell...it's no worse than Sin taxes on cigarettes and alchohol.

20. Thanks, but it would never happen
The players would all go on strike the moment it happened...regardless if the package entailed a sweet PROTECTED post career package that would prevent many of them (especially the third stringers) from financial destitution.

Of course they would have to go back eventually...

12. I want an 18 year old drinking age.
And strict regulation of all drugs.

Lets let personal accountability rule supreme.

That's what this world needs, more drunk children.

23. Europe hates 18 year olds?
America is a great place. But it can be better. I would rather live in a world where 18 year olds can drink responsibly then return to Prohibition.

A driver society should not stop me from from having some champagne at the opera.

Peace and low stress to you and yours and be safe in the new year.

21. The Feds blackmail you with cutting highway money if you try. Of course in Louisiana
we have very, very strict enforcement of the 21 year old "purchase" law (wink, wink). Kind of how the enforcement of the cock fighting ban will go next year.

There was one local police chief asked about it and he said "yeah, it's against the law to spit on the sidewalk too, just call if you see it happening and we'll get right on it."
