so bush can't name any recess appointments. Yep good idea, then they can vote to approve the irresponsible decisions as soon as they come back from Christmas Vacation. So why not let bush appoint whom ever he wants and save time.

I agree. At this point, what's the use of keeping up the pretense of a functional Democratic Party. We all know it's a fucking joke. ...that the current Senate wouldn't just rubber-stamp. Maybe there is another Bernie Kerik somewhere out there?

But it's no skin off *'s nose if his nominee simply has to practice saying "I don't recall" for a couple of afternoon Senate hearings. And it gives the senators some free air-time to speechify before a quick vote for approval.
