Big Philly Coverage of CIGNA's "Problem"

I practice almost literally a stone's throw from the building...there's BIG BIG trouble all over Philly re: this poor girl's death. There is a municipal shame here and it's only going to grow. One thing we don't like in Philly is dead children, since we've lost so many to gang violence in recent months.

Local stations have video from national and local places...including One Liberty Place, the HQ of CIGNA.

This has hit a nerve here. We're keeping up the heat...I know a fair number of these folk and will confront them somewhat delicately as befits my role as practitioner, but quite directly as befits my moral courage.

Nothing will change. These fuckin' people care only about the dollar, not human life. The American health insurance system, the American health care system, are blights on humanity. They are going to continue to be blights. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. They have operated in this manner for so long, that the only thing that will change them is their demise. Out with the private, for profit, health insurance system. Until they are present for their own funerals, stories like the dead girl will happen every so often.

3. Like the Rethugs

we have to learn to fight our battles a very little bit at a time. It is the total weight of everything which will force these companies to begin to think about possibly considering doing the right thing some of the time.

Every little bit helps...ask the pro-life people how they got this far in the debate....on abortion clinic protest at a time.

We should learn technique, not ideology, from them.

6. Negligent Homicide.

Seems to me that the corporate officers at Cigna ought to be charged with murder. Seems to me also that the idiots whining about how 'gummint healthcare' is going to make them wait in a line ought to shut the fuck up and get a clue. We are already waiting in line, this poor child died waiting in that line, the bastards lining us up are there to guarantee obscene profits not good service. At least if our government ran our healthcare system we could vote the bastards out. How do I vote Cigna out?
