Any DUers in Chicago who visited the Christkindlesmarkt?
We just saw a TV report about the 12th annual Christkindlesmarkt (German Christmas Market) in Chicago.

Just curious, are there any DUers who enjoyed the event?

1. I went like five years ago and it was a pleasant diversion.
The grog was nice, and they have neat imported candies for sale. The only thing I didn't like was how cold it was but that doesn't look like a problem today.

2. According to the TV report, it´s still "windy and cold"
keeping the grog at the top of the best selling item list.

3. I walk or cab by it twice a day, every work day.

It's great. Lot's of fun. I've probably bought a dozen or so presents there over the last 7 years or so. The goods are of high quality and it's generally a blast.

It once took up an entire city block, right across State Street from Marshall Fields. Now Marshall Fields is Macys (the horror) and the empty block is under construction so Christkindlmarket is confined to Daley Plaza in the shadows of the Picasso and the giant Christmas tree.

As for the weather, no self-respecting Chicagoan ever lets the weather come between them and a good time. That said, it's in the mid 40's today in the Loop.

4. Warm Greetings to Chicago!
and more power to you while enjoying the cool, fresh air!
