Why would a tattoo parlor be considered "news"?
I'm wracking my brain here. My local T.V. "news" station is doing a feature story tonight that they've been promoting all weekend long about a a tattoo parlor. WTF? Humans have been decorating their bodies with tattoos for thousands of years, it's not "news".

It's a part of pop culture now that the hipsters have latched onto it, but really I could give less than a rat's ass about any tattoo parlor. Is there nothing else more important that could be featured? Celebrity hairstyles maybe?

1. Is there any actual news associated with the story?
In Washington, body jewelry is in the news again. Not as part of a "here's something curious" story and not because of scandal, but because the state Legislature is considering regulatory legislation that would require body piercers to hold to the same sanitary and hygienic standards and age of consent rules as tattoo artists. Most professional piercers support the legislation because they already follow the proposed rules; it is the small handful who have come out against regulation that are prompting the news coverage.

3. None that I can ascertain...
the story runs tonight, but the only thing "newsy" is the particular featured artist's popularity.

4. For the same reason that CBS showed footage yesterday
on their early morning news show about Britney shaving her head, I suppose. This is national news? Are they trying to target younger audiences? I just don't get it.

6. Speaking of odd news
I hear the oddest bit of news last night on WBZ radio in Boston. It was about a couple that was caught pulled over on the side of a major highway in Isreal having sex in the drivers seat with the car idling. They were given a ticket and told to "get a room".

For the life of me I cannot figure out why this was news.....

Or.... Rhode Island news radio. Teenager arrested, caught with small bag of pot.

News??????????????????????

doesnt this shit happen like every day, everywhere?

11. Lock him up and throw away the key!
first he was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot for a long time, then he was found to be in posession of contraband towels and an ashtray. He is clearly a very dangerous criminal.
