Why I don't have a blog

Or, rather, why I choose to keep my "blog" at DU rather than out on the web somewhere.

I did blog briefly, but then realized that part of my whole reason for writing the political and social stuff I do is to engage in dialog. Until you're "discovered" out there, there is very little dialog. I used to post my stuff on gather.com, but, well, same thing. If only a few people are reading your stuff, no one's actually TALKING about it.

To me, this is better than your average blog anyway. A LOT more bells and whistles. Of course, there's the downside that people aren't nearly as likely to stumble upon it. It's a trade-off, I suppose.

Speaking of my journal, I just added a couple more rants to it. It's not one of the most widely read, that's for sure. But that's okay. I only add the stuff to it I really like. Not every post is journal-worthy.

Just like if I kept a regular blog, maybe half of my posts here would make it there.

In short, I think I pretty much like things they way they are.
