The building houses nearly all of the White House staff, including White House speechwriters, White House communications, senior staff from the Office of Management and Budget and the National Security Council.

1. The presence of black smoke...
Leads me to believe the fire was electric or electronic in nature. Burning electrical and electronic insulation and components creates black smoke.

7. and hard drives and servers?
Isn't that where the copies of the live feed videos of torture are believed to be located? On servers and hard drives?

It is the modern age, most documents are stored on computers, not on paper.

3. It trully might have been an accident.
But with the under handedness of this administration, and the fact that they just told cheney he had to turn over his records, I just don't buy it.

10. My ears perked up when I heard....
I don't know why, the possible scandal here never crossed my mind, just seemed like a fire I was watching on TV.

But when the fire inspector said that the building was going to be closed for another couple of hours, "till all of the smoke could be exited from the building", it just seemed odd to me. I never heard a fire inspector, given the few things he said, jump on that. Something that seemed obvious.

But in this case he did.

I wondered, why?

Then Bush and CHaney there in person. Odd.

Then the extreme friendship from all firemen to Bush and co. I'm sure that many of those guys actually like and admire them, but in this case it seemed, to man. Odd.
