US military not told of Turkey bomb plan

WASHINGTON - U.S. military commanders in Iraq didn't know Turkey was sending warplanes to bomb in northern Iraq until the planes had already crossed the border, said defense and diplomatic officials, who were angered about being left in the dark.

Wow, we didn't see em coming. Hell, if thats the case, Iran could just come on over and kick our ass and we wouldn't even see em coming.

1. That's a pretty damn serious failure
...regardless of who's flying the planes. Next time it could be a foe.

2. This dumbfuck pResident will do everything in his power
to ensure that the next President won't have a snowball's chance in hell of having lawful military orders carried out at once as they should be.

Thanks to * he or she will be second guessed to kingdom on even the most mundane things!

4. Odd since Turkey has been real clear
that they were going to take action against PKK sanctuaries in Iraq, and have already made several incursions in the last month. And the Turks successfully pressured the Bush admin into providing useful intelligence on PKK movements and locations in northern Iraq.

5. Horseshit
Pathetic. Turkey doesn't do anything without consulting us.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think it's that we didn't know, but that we are pretending we didn't pre-approve this with the Turks.

But it's a very hazardous development.

6. Nobody could have predicted that Turkey would do this
Just like nobody could have predicted that terrorists would try to fly planes into buildings.

Or a powerful hurricane would cause major flooding in New Orleans.

7. Not told. Bull shit.
It's not like this is the first time it's happened. They were "allowed" to do it. Otherwise, the headline would read: "Turkish Jets Shot Down Over Northern Iraq".

I'm so OVER the fact that the powers that be think we're all so fucking stoopid! :eyes:

9. They would rather appear incompetent than complicit.
The Busholini Regime doesn't want the PKK in Iraq or Turkey.
