3. That's the no-thought-required answer. I want to know why no one has sponsored it.

5. That is definitely my suspicion.
But we're not supposed to think that about Our Great Democratic Leaders.

So... I'm looking for the "real" reason.

4. Because it has no chance of passing
this congress, and if by some miracle it did, it would be vetoed.

6. So you would disagree with Harkin on this statement?
“We should have sent him more appropriations bills and made him veto all of them,” said Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa). “We’re letting him off easy. … That’s all I’ll say."

8. That's a Russert-like approach to debate
throw a quote from somebody else and try to pressure somebody into either agreeing with it or disagreeing with it.

I answered your question. I didn't say I liked it that way. You asked why, I told you.

7. Pete Stark is Chairman of the Ways and Means subcommittee which has the bill
Perhaps you should ask him.

15. So I take it most people agree that it's better to try band aids
like CHIP than try to get the US on the same standard as the rest of the civilized world.

Well... the insurance companies are grateful, at least...

16. Those who recieve CHIP are likely greatful too
Should we allow more suffering in order to create a crisis in which voters will demand a solution?

17. Obviously...
...because single-payer, universal-access health care if "off the table," as are so many other great ideas that most sane and civilized countries take as a given.

I would think the floor around the table is getting a little cluttered with Ms. Nancy's discards lying all over the place.
