Dodd, FISA and the Filibuster — How It’s Going To Go Down and What You Can Do

The latest word from the Dodd camp regarding what will happen on the FISA bill is that tomorrow, Dodd will take the floor and not yield.

He can take "questions" from other senators during the filibuster, which can be no more than 20 minutes. We understand that Kennedy and Feingold so far have agreed to do this.

They're asking for people to express their thoughts on the subject and leave them in the comments below. Dodd is going to have plenty of time to read, so if you'd like to have your feelings on the matter read on the Senate floor you can leave your them in the comments below.

If Republicans can confuse the American people with "Intelligence Design", they will keep doing it with democracy.

Until all of America rejects the propaganda and lies of the Republican party, it will continue to be effective.

The more people worship at the altar of FOX, the more people enable the Republicans.

Now and in future administrations...no matter who "runs" Congress.

So, no, it is not Harry who is enabling Bush. It has been the American people who have enabled Bush and the entire Republican party, for that matter.

7. Question and Comment - Thank you for bringing this to our attention

Can someone tell me if they can find out if they have been "black listed" because of comments or emails, etc? I have been trying for a year now to get a job in Florida and I am well qualified. I had a job offered to me but it mysteriously was pulled out from under me and they won't tell me why. Also I have tried to file with the government over another issue and for some reason I am ignored. Does anyone else have stories like this? I don't think this is just about me. I had sent a letter in 2003 to ask for Rumsfeld resignation to the President and that may have started it. I have also been a big proponent against Blackwater and had written to John McCain before I realized he is just another puppet for Bush. He wrote back that he thought it was fine what Blackwater and other contractors, i.e. Halliburton, etc. were doing.

Thanks for bringing Sen. Dodd's courageous effort to us and I have commented on the site.

8. Accountability counts, and has been sorely missing

during the Bush administration. It's long past time for the Democrats to start demanding that illegal activities will not only be exposed, but punished.

Nothing, including "security", is more important than our rights. If we abandon them to some perverse sense of national safetly, we've lost everything.

I applaud Senator Dodd's actions, and I thank my senator!

on this issue. There have been some outstanding DU rants on this topic in the last year. It would be great to give Dodd's staff a pile of 20 or 30 of the best DU posts on FISA/domestic spying to read on the floor.

Also, let's not forget to continue to lean on the rest of the Presidential candidates to step up and support this. They have promised to do so. Let's hold their feet to the fire.
