Al Gore: "I am not an official of the United States, and I am not bound by diplomatic niceties"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HeTA1S7TXM

"you can do one of two things here...you can feal anger and frustration and direct it at the USA, or you can make a second choice.....you can decide to move forward and do all of the difficult work that needs to be done"

Inspiring.

8. After looking at the video
I see Gore is forging that new path he talks about. One that is new and bold and has never been tread before which will lead us into a better future for humanity and for the planet. On the other hand, the Bush administration hasn't done a new thing ever. They seem singularly determined to repeat every historic mistake ever made by dictators and warmongers, dead set on taking us headlong into the most unstable and dangerous situation possible on a planetary level. Could there be more of a contrast?

30. Not to quibble
But he picked Lieberman for his VP. I really question whether the same person would've been president.

Let us all just rejoice in the idea that Gore may have actually done more good outside of the presidency in starting this movement to fight GW. Without the time for reflection provided by his horribly disheartening screw job by the SC, and the nightmare presidential election, he may have never brought all this on, perhaps just staying in the pockets of corporations, and doing the things that made perhaps influenced him to choose Lieberman in the first place.

17. Inspiring, Yes. Now what are we going to do to help him blaze that path?
He sent a message stating that over 100,000 people signed his petition to Bali... However, over 500,000 signed letters to Congress when he went to the Hill last March. Is that because then people thought he was "running" and now know he is not running in 2008 that the numbers were lower for this petition he took to Bali? Where were the rest of them? It is great to sit and type that his words are inspiring for indeed they are, but they won't be any more than words in this country if we don't get up and start getting more vocal in helping turn them into action. I am more than ready to go beyond talk.

18. Tears in my eyes
Tears of joy seeing Gore. Not following a path - but making a path for himself.

The so called "critics" aka republiCONs who have NOTHING to offer America other than destruction of our democratic heritage, they are jealous of him. But all Gore shows is respect and gentlemanly ways and let these deniers go on their merry ways with their lies.

Meanwhile, Gore ventures forward and along the way gets and Oscar. And a NOBEL PEACE prize.

Take that!

I honor PRESIDENT GORE ... truly an American hero!

19. I know that a lot of RW conservatives will watch this and say that Al
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 06:33 PM by jhrobbins
is blaming the US and that is considered heresy with this group. However, I have always viewed this argument the same as I look at the way we raise our children these days. When I was growing up, my parents loved me dearly, but when I transgressed, they sought to turn me around and did not indict the school (it was school transgressions in my case) the teachers or principals, etc (to make things a little worse, my Father was vice president of the school board). Nowadays, parents think that their children do no wrong and when caught cheating or otherwise, they seek to blame the teachers and the schools. I am constantly amazed that children nowadays see nothing wrong with cheating as long as it propels them forward. What have we wrought in this country? I love my country, but, like my parents, I do not think it is never capable of wrongdoing. And I think that this is paramount to progress here in the US.

20. Every time I hear this guy speak
I think of the political crisis in the United States, and I wonder how it is possible that he is not President of this nation. I have a question of my own for the Supreme Court Justices that selected monkeyboy over Al Gore, the real winner of the election in 2000. My question is: "What were you thinking?".

22. I hope, if worst comes to worst, he is out of the country when the Bush coup comes.
Oh, I know, I am silly to think that whether an election is held is still an open issue; after all, what has the Bush administration done to make us think they crave power above all else?

Nevertheless, Gore would be target 1 under such a circumstance. They could not possibly let Al Gore have a platform somewhere else in the world to fight back. He would be eliminated, to be sure.

He's a man of courage, just like our founding fathers. I'll be on his side if martial law is declared.

I can't believe they would let him run free, however.

29. I cannot imagine
that his passion for climate change could go forward without him at the helm of the U.S. The whole world is waiting for him to declare his candidacy, or alternatively, come out to support for Edwards, or even, maybe, Obama. That would be the next best thing to his running for POTUS. Supporting Edward, or Obama IMHO would be the biggest boost to their candidacy. ABC.

31. I cannot imagine
how you could imagine that!

He so obviously has a passion that will carry on stronger than ever without "him at the helm of the US".

I'm sure he'll come out in support of someone. He's waiting for them to show all their cards on global warming.
