mysterious companies go around buying licenses to control wireless broadband services provided by public college and school systems. the licensors (school boards and districts) assign these license to private companies without even knowing who these companies really are.
a request for information in a dailykos diary reveals who owns and runs one such company which has been given no-competition access to communication spectrums worth millions. seems like that company is not going to actually run any broadband services, but will flip them for profit to higher paying bidders, while the schools get nothing extra. Lazy school boards wasting taxpayer money.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/14/51938/184/546/421503a fine example of the netroots in just about instant cooperation to shine a light on the corporate cockroaches.
And whatta ya know, this outfit is linked to bush contributors.
