How would you respond to a presidential candidate who tried to remove the Senate Majority Leader

In the UK, the Prime Minister is in some sense the President and Senate Majority Leader rolled into one; and I think one of the advantages of the American system is keeping the roles separate; so that Congressional leaders are, at least in theory, independent of the President.

Has Bush been trying to do this, then?

I just thought it should be discussed in a broader way. You probably know more about how our separation of powers clause than many native US citizens. My husband from India wows people with his knowledge of it. :shrug:

On the other hand if any of our current crop of candidates could get rid of the invertebrate "leadership" in the house and senate, they'd go way up in my estimation.

11. In that case I would be on the side of the speaker since they would actually be standing up to the

tyrannical leadership of the president. in the case of pelosi and the other democratic leaders they ain't doing a damn thing to stand up against tyranny at home so I think they should be out of here. so I would change my answer to depending on the reason. if they are being threatened because they are trying to stop tyranny at home then I would support them if they are becoming tyrants or supporting the tyrants in power then they should be removed.
