Old Man Thompson is http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/10/us/politics/11cnd-poll.html">polling at 7%. How soon before he packs it in and heads back to Hollywood?

Republican Party presidential candidate, former Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN), is pictured in a car as he leaves the Republican party debate in Johnston, Iowa, December 12, 2007

27. Uhhh, Could you repeat the question?
I've had cold sticky two day old oatmeal warmer and more interesting than this guy. With the writers strike it's a good thing the Republican party has their bevy of clowns to keep the comedy rolling or I'd be downright bored. I have a little nasty fantasy of all the religious wingnut Christian Rebug candidate wannabes all getting down to their skivvies, (Mitts would be truly disgusting because I've seen those mormon jammies and they're SKANKY and sloppy) and get into a ring and duke it out in a tag team sort of fest, smacking each other with the holy righteous chairs of Jesus and spitting scripture, flinging the feces of bigotted doctrine and just getting down and dirty. Boy Howdy, that would make a fun show.

10. He told Michael Moore a few months ago...
...he didn't have time to debate him on the state of our health care system in the U.S. -- well Freddie (Dead Man Walking) Thompson oughta have plenty of time pretty soon.

13. Wasn't it kind of dumb to turn that down? Think of the number of
viewers that would have pulled!!!

The only thing that explains a refusal like this is that he was afraid Moore would tie him in knots - which he would!

19. I couldn't resist posting a couple messages from the political forum of the Indy conservative rag:

"Fred's numbers are shrinking faster than his octogenarian nut-sack.

He's the perfect analogy for the entire Republican party: An old, shriveled, dull-as-dirt fossil who's going nowhere.

The fact that the righty loons anointed him as a savior is hilarious. He's getting slaughtered in the polls in Iowa, and in New Hampshire, he actually TRAILS Ron Paul by nearly 3 points!!!

LOL -- ****'s savior, the guy he assured us would make the Dems tremble, is way behind even the guy that *** mocks."

"Thompson is the kind of guy GOP was hoping to use to go after the "idiot vote"

Why they wanted him to run: he stands 6'5", has a leather face, talks in baritone voice, drove a red pick-up truck in Tennessee for 2 blocks once. All he had to do was stand there and make vague statements that dance around the issues with plenty of references to "freedom" and "liberty" in every sentence. Guess that's too much for him to handle."

The resident neo-cons are not even bothering to post a rebuttal.

20. Isn't the only reason he's running is because his wife wants him to?
Frederick of Hollywood seems less than enthusiastic about the whole thing.

Guess the trophy wife will never be First Lady. Thank God. Now if we can only get rid of Rudith...Can you imagine that classless gold digger in the WH? Ugh.
