They're playing politics and trying to have it both ways. "Against the war" but "Supporting the troops".

But, when their powder miraculously is dry enough, they might, if they have the votes, and the polls show it's safe, and they can win the red states, and the campaign contributions from the "defense" industry come in, and when pigs fly, actually do something to end the carnage.
