Dennis Kucinich gets excluded from a debate in Iowa. Say it ain't so. I figured it would be a matter of time.
But, this can be an opportunity!
Dennis just needs to ask himself...WWWD What Would Wellstone Do?
Well, I think ol' Paul would have pitched a tent in a KOA Kampground, put a cell phone and a fax machine in it, invite the press and say, HERE'S MY OFFICIAL IOWA CAMPAIGN FIELD OFFICE...AND I DO MEAN 'FIELD OFFICE'
The problem with Dennis Kucinich is:
1. He represents a fundamental paradigm shift that this country sorely needs, but its hella sure ain't "ready" for. 2. Kucinich is perceived falsely as the "same old weak whiny liberal that the he-man Republicans will sweep 50 states against" 3. Kucinich is running a campaign based on that the unconventional commodity called "the truth". 4. Kucinich has chosen a side in the battle of labor and capital and capital is rather pissed.
He's running a most unconventional campaign, yet he's trying to send that unconventional message through conventional means.
You can't win a battle like this one that way. We can't run the way Hilliary, Obama or Edwards does. We have to show something different.
For example, after you pitch the tent...Go to where the debate is, and have a "tent in"/concert/informational session/simulcast. Get some supporters together. Get the activists and organizers, call Ani DiFranco and have her gather up some progressive/indie/leftie-type musical talent and have a combination festival/fundraiser/hellraiser/teach-in at the site of the debate.
And its also up to us. Today I've filed my papers in my state to try to be a delegate to the national convention in Denver this summer, in addition to registering a few voters this morning. If the Kucinich miracle is going to happen its going to require us puts ours back into it..and its going to require all of us to quit trying to fight the fight the way the "experts" say.
It's what Paul did, remember? :)
