New rethug spin - Democrats knew about waterboarding in '02, and approved of it
Is there no end to the lies and untruths the rethugs will come up with? Now the latest spin making the rounds on conservative talk radio is that some Congressmen (including Pelosi) toured Guantanamo and other holding stations back in 2002, and that they not only saw techniques such as waterboarding, but that they actually encouraged such techniques. What a load of revisionist bullshit - yet their sheep gobble it up and spew it out to others, continuing the cycle of deceit.

If only there were a 'truth in broadcasting' law, similar to 'truth in advertising'. It would be so nice to require these assholes to prove their assertions.

2. Did Pelosi know about waterboarding? There was another thread on DU
a couple of days ago which implied she was a willing participate

My only question, were there any Democrats who were involved with it?

3. I knew all along that Bush was holding SOMETHING over Nancy
now we know what it is--they're going to make her look like an accomplice to everything.

4. Perhaps, but is there any validity to the story that Pelosi was involved
in this mess, or was it primarily passive ignorance of the situation?

8. LOL--Since when has "validity" stopped these guys?
The Repubs can turn her silence on waterboarding into complicty, with the help of the complicity of the MSM. That's why she's been doing all this sniveling--and that's why the only honorable thing to do is call in a special prosecutor.

7. If she did nothing to stop it, she is an accomplice.
And should burn with the rest of them.

that will be the only way to replace her

5. Special Prosecuter NOW!!
Edited on Wed Dec-12-07 09:42 AM by MNDemNY
If it takes down the whole Dem. Leadership, then so be it. Any involved(complacent) in torture should be tried, convicted, and jailed.

6. I'd prefer to find out all the details first
If it's true that they knew about torture and said nothing, then go after them. But why are we just hearing about this from the rethugs now? Why didn't this come out when the whole controversy over torture came up? The timing of this "revelation" seems very suspicious to me. It could very well be that they weren't told everything on their trip.

9. Rep Harmon(?) admits being informed..
and was concerned enough to write a letter stating objections. Ive long believed that this was why impeachment was "off the table". I heard also, that J. Rockefeller also wrote such a letter.

11. It's a weapon of mass media diversion from the NIE, of course
They'd rather that the public discuss the Dems' possible complicity and the FBI allegedly destroying tapes behind their backs than the fact that they have absolutely no grounds for invading Iraq.

10. When the Dem leadership
stands there with their finger up their___threatening to send another letter or making empty threats every time another Bu$hCo crime or story of wrong doing is revealed its no surprise that the RePukes will try and implicate them with guilt by association.

16. I don't buy it
If conservative talk radio is pushing it, it's nothing more than a bogus story to deflect from Bush.

18. On at least two separate RW talk shows
Limbaugh was talking about it two days ago, and then yesterday I heard it on some other RW show - not sure if it was Mike Gallagher or not.

Once Limbaugh brings something up on his program, all these other sycophants take it as divine gospel and spread it on their shows.
