1. Sad, for her, for the sport, for everyone who admires her and what she accomplished.

2. Some of us are interested in sports, and it is big news.
Thanks. (though this was inevitable considering developments over the past months.)

Did you hear if her relay teammates would lose their medals, too?

8. So far it looks like only Jones. Only AP seems to have a story so far.

This is important on so many levels, actually, no9t just sports.

7. I didn't keep up with it. Was it an intentional cheat?

14. I don't know
maybe I shouldn't have said anything but on its face isn't doping intentional
I feel sad for her and also the ones cheated out of the medals, they are the ones who come out on the short end of the stick so to say. I love competition but only on a level playing field and or at the least be aware of the others advantage. I tried to teach my stepsons to pay attention to what the people who you have to deal with in life what they talk about not so much what is said but are they talking about getting over on someone etc cause if they do they will to you too.

another day of possible freezing rain here, this is getting to be a pain in the ass. I finally yesterday brought the generator from the shop and put it in the back room so all I have to do is roll it out on the back porch and plug it in. should've done that the first day, oh well ;-)

6. I thought she removed her clothing
from your thread title!

She did the right thing, though.

9. Considering the punishments doled out to other track and field athletes
I believe the authorities have been very harsh in their treatment of Marian Jones. she evidently did something to piss off the suits at USTAF.

it makes me very sad to see what has happened to this sport I have always loved.

12. This does seem a little harsher than most. This is very sad--
she was a joy to watch.

13. There are other track and field medalists busted for steroids who weren't stripped of their medals?
Edited on Wed Dec-12-07 08:58 AM by Buzz Clik
My recollection is that they've been quite consistent.

Lots and lots of examples...

11. That is very sad
and disappointing. She was an American idol. We rooted and cheered for her victories. It is such a sad statement about American youth.
