Ava's Army is launched! Welcome to Ava's Army where you get the chance to say what you're thinking. Ava's Army is blogging and networking site with the goal to inform and empower young people. Too often we as young people have our opinions and views ignored when it comes to political issues and current events. Right now we are seen as the generation of pop culture but together we can change that and become a generation of activism and passion about the world around us and the issues that effect us on a day to day basis. Here at Ava's Army your opinions matter and can make a difference. The only person who can keep you silent is you. Never let anyone shut you up.

Want to start blogging and contributing to the site? First you have to register which you can do here: http://www.avasarmy.com/user/register.
After you register and log in select "New Blog Entry" from the menu. It's as simple as that.

What blogs get featured on the front page? Featured blogs are chosen by the Ava's Army mod team and me. These blogs may be chosen because of their popularity, subject, or the blogger's writing. We try our best to be fair and rotate our featured blogs so that the same bloggers are not featured every day and all bloggers get a chance. went to register - put my username - put my e-mail address
but so no space for a password - now i can't log on because i have no password and none has been sent to my e-mail

maybe got it. no one else has had problems, except for one person who accidentally put in the wrong address, but when they reregistered it worked fine. what is your username and i'll look into it. you should get an email though with a password for first-time login

or some other A-word. An Army sounds kinda militaristic.

You are amazing to me, and I appreciate your passion, activism, and creativity and video-making skills.

A word of caution, or wisdom though, or at least your money's worth of free advice. "Never let anyone shut you up." sounds like bad advice to young people. Young people can be wicked smart. They often amaze us old farts with how much they know, especially about new fangled computers and phones and such, but they also can be wicked arrogant - over-estimating how much they know, thinking that they know it all. (Not that adults are immune to that). All people though, and especially young people, need to listen, read learn and think at least as much as they speak, and to stop and consider their words and actions instead of firing thoughtlessly and rapidly from the hip. (Often it seemed to me when I was in my twenties even that young people would out-number adults and quickly drag us all down to a junior high level.)

Secondly, as you enter the world of online discussion boards, you have connections with admins and mods here who have some experience with the perils and pitfalls of such an activity. Ask for their help and advice if you think you need it. Not everybody's gonna be a dickhead like me and offer it without being asked, but through my obvious preachy platitudes, I wish you well.
