Sorry, nope, I don't see Dennis' vote on the "Christian" resolution
as a reason of concern. Ok, it's a dumb resolution, but why is it any dumber than the resolutions praising Islam or Hinduism? I just don't see why people are so freaked out about this resolution when many people here praised the Islam resolution.

1. care to give some background.
a link maybe. I have had a chance to break bread with DK with his fellow volunteers. I sense I know Kucinich very well. If you could look into his head, you'd find him a deeply spirtual, Christan type. He takes the message of Christ quite seriously. He lives by the tenants of the early Christains martyrs. He would not betray Christainity , since he is one.
During a recent debate he talked of the role of his religion, yet reminded us of the American promise of religious freedom. This is what drives DK. And he is to be praised to be a reflection of what is best about our Christain tradition.

2. Definitely one of the silliest things I've seen an outrage over
Was there similar outrage over a resolution praising Ramadan, Yom Kippur?

5. Congress votes on lots of silly things.
Silly meaningless votes cast each day. For the home audience that is so gullible. Think DK would vote against a resolution condemning Motherhood? I might.

8. It's not a concern of his character.
Edited on Wed Dec-12-07 07:15 AM by mmonk
It's a concern about the character of America. (Those that vote against resolutions for other religions but for the Christian one) It's the fascists keeping hate alive. Religion, as the founding fathers knew, has no place in the halls of government. Governments use religion as a tool of hate and control.
