When is the House voting on the importance of Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism...
Edited on Tue Dec-11-07 09:54 PM by RiverStone
Taoism, Wicca, Shintō, Pagan, Native American, etc....

Or the importance of being an atheist or an agnostic?

When?

How in the fuck can the people's Congress vote to single out the importance of one faith and the holiday of one faith without naming all the others?

This is a vote I could never, EVER imagine happening in these United States; I can't fathom the rational??????

roll call of shame here:

On edit: coexist right?

10. According to the list above, King of Iowa didn't vote.
Which wouldn't make sense. But my mistake may be in expecting Steve King to make sense.

The Dangers of Combining Politics And Religion
Examples From Early American History, 1797 to 1800
http://candst.tripod.com/pol1800.htm

"Guard against those men who make a great noise about religion, in choosing representatives. It is electioneering. If they knew the nature and worth of religion, they would not debauch it to such shameful purposes. If pure religion is the criterion to denominate candidates, those who make a noise about it must be rejected; for their wrangle about it, proves that they are void of it. Let honesty, talents and quick despatch, characterise the men of your choice. Such men will have a sympathy with their constituents, and will be willing to come to the light, that their deeds may be examined. . . . "
