"imagining America"
Last night my wife and I watched, “Imagining Argentina.” This is not a film to watch before bedtime, the images are so intense and so reviling. This is during Argentina’s “dirty war.” I knew that the US had something to do with it and here it is Kissinger approved of what the junta was doing.

This film is a work of fiction but it is about a real time and place where real people were tortured and killed. Many were arested by secret police and their families never saw them again-not even to bury their bodies. It is estimated that 10 to 30,000 disapeared.

Somehow we have to get it together and stop these monsters. Yes, they would do it here.

KISSINGER TO ARGENTINES ON DIRTY WAR:
"THE QUICKER YOU SUCCEED THE BETTER"

Newly declassified documents show Secretary of State
gave green light to junta, Contradict official line that
Argentines "heard only what wanted to hear."

While military dictatorship committed massive
human rights abuses in 1976, Kissinger advised
"If you can finish before Congress gets back, the better."
