The federal NDP has also called for a public inquiry to determine whether the officers were assigned to provoke violence and who knew about such a plan. NDP critic Peter Julian said the federal government can't simply wash its hands of the issue after overseeing the summit's organization.
"I think we've got more questions now at the end of the week than we had at the beginning said NDP critic Peter Julian. "I don't think (Day's) stonewalling is going to cut it."
Liberal justice critic Marlene Jennings said Day should have the RCMP Public Complaints Commission investigate.
