A Freeper's rationale for invading Iraq
I know that Harry Reid's comments about the Iraq war being "the worst foreign policy mistake in the history of this country" already have a couple of threads going, but I saw this line in a Freeper rant over at RimJob's place and didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle:

"Going after Saddam Hussein, instead of holding back (again), was one of the few times we actually got something right. By doing so we have attracted thousands of terrorists into Iraq, like a giant bug zapper, and killed over 20,000 of them."
(from post #19 by some tool called navyguy)

I'm a bad boy for trawling around the Alternate Reality (a.k.a. The Land of Make-Believe) but really - I thought that line of thinking just took the cake.

1. 20,000 eh?
:wow: :eyes: Never mind how many we have created as a result of our going after Saddam Hussein, instead of holding back (again).

navyguy apparently doesn't want to think about that, does he?

2. It's like one of those Whack-A-Mole games
Every time you whack one, another one pops up somewhere else.

I guess they have to rationalize it some way - otherwise their heads would explode.........

4. I'm sick of their rationalizations. Frankly they suck and these morans
are trying to rationalize us into another unprovoked war. We would be better off if their heads did explode for the real facts.

5. I'm sure the Iraqi people appreciate their country being used
as nothing but a "giant bug zapper" and battleground to be blown to smithereens. what a disgusting piece of idiotic shit.

6. They all believe
yesterday's Walter Reed Building 18 story is a 'hit piece.' They're falling overtop one another posting how 'great' it is, they've 'just been there and it's wonderful', the 'Left is going after * by denigrating the troops', other ravings. They said the photos with the story did not show the alleged cockroaches or mice, so they couldn't possibly exist. Yet, another thread is calling for donations of the most personal and intimate type for patients at WR since those are not supplied by the military.

7. So that's it!
How could we have been so blind as to not see the genius of George Bush for doing this? :banghead: That was his plan all along! Getting insurgents from across the middle east congregated within Iraq and then......losing to them? :eyes: Never mind.

8. So we don't have to fight them here, right?
But I thought another attack on US soil was inevitable. And Junior has been personally responsible for thwarting numerous attempts since 911, right?

If they're all trapped in a roach motel in Iraq, how can they still be trying to attack us here?

11. We've killed 1 million Iraqis.
And every one of those people has a mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, neighbors, cousins and Friends.

We may have killed 20,000 terrorists, but we've created 8 million more.

12. I wonder what we would be called
if Japan, Korea, Russia or the Viet Con invaded us and we fought back in defense of our country. Freedom fighters or insurgents.

13. It's a false argument
because more jihadis have been created because of the occupation.

And without the occupation of Iraq the existing jihadis would probably be in Chechnya fighting the Russians.

15. What logic. Like there's a fixed number of terrorists and we just

"bug zap" them. Never mind that every "smart bomb" targeting accident, or strip searching somebody's wife at a checkpoint, or shooting their child by accident creates a new "terrorist" who probably wasn't too happy about our invasion to start with. If the shoe were on the other foot, I have no doubt that we'd be all "Red Dawn" on anybody who had invaded us, especially if after four years, there's still no power, no water, chaos...

18. It's the "flypaper theory"
and I hear it repeated by average sheeple everywhere. It indicates an inablility to think outside of the Republic box, and an underestimation of the growing number of terrorists, imho.

19. It's a good thing the terrorists are that dumb
Instead of doing terrorist attacks worldwide, they choose to go and congregate in Iraq!
