Huckabee thinks God is into politics
I'm not surprised.

In a recent speech at Liberty University, the Baptist school founded by Jerry Falwell, Huckabee said his surprise surge in the polls was the result of divine intervention. "There's only one explanation for it, and it's not a human one," he said. Paraphrasing Mark 6:41, Huckabee remarked, "It's the same power that helped a little boy with two fish and five loaves feed a crowd of five thousand people … There literally are thousands of people across this country who are praying that a little will become much, and it has, and it defies all explanation."

The very arrogance of his assumption that his God would seek to divinely intervene on his behalf politically is as ludicrous as his dismissal of evolution. I would ask Huckabee then where was his God when Shrub was appointed as president when he lost by 1/2 a million votes? Where was his God when Shrub started an immoral war based on lies which has resulted in countless deaths and injuries that never needed to happen? I only need to look as far as the rightie SCOTUS and diebold voting machines to know what threw that election.

I don't profess to have a clue what kind of intervention, divine or otherwise, may effect worldly events --- the Packers keep winning --- is that by divine help? I just think they are playing damn good football but ultimately, who the fuck knows? I can't prove it either way. Yet what really irks me is Huckabee assumes he knows and assumes the God of one faith would choose who rules those of other faiths.

Speaking just for myself, I don't think God has anything to do with Huckabee's poll numbers. Though if it did, I'm reminded of a bumper sticker I read the other day which said: God, save me from your followers

5. He also said that Jesus was too smart to be a politician.
This Huckleberry Clown is wacky person. The RWing Fundies love him, of course.

7. God may have told Mike Huckabee to run for president.
But God did not tell me to vote for him, so go ahead and run you fucking hill-billy!

(paraphrased from Bill Hicks talking about Pat Robertson)

10. Huckabee will have himself nailed to a cross
and get it attached to the bed of a flatbed truck. He'll tour the bible belt that way, giving speeches to his flock after he raises Terry Schiavo from the dead.

11. Headline: "Huckabee accuses God of being an idiot".
Of course, God has made some rather serious blunders, but accusing Him of backing someone like a backwoods preacher for president is downright blasphemous.

Politics is Satan's gig.
