Brainless voters or NOT???
I have always thought the brainless crap on network TV was a planned distraction for the masses from the humdrum to unacceptable status quo in American life. I have thought that this easy distraction of Americans showed that they were easily brainwashed and stupid. In part of Oprah's speech in SC, she said something to the point that Americans are watching these crap shows to escape from the reality of their lives now. There is a difference here between what Oprah implied and what I was thinking!

There is a big difference between braindead people who watch idiot tv shows and continue to vote for the status quo because they are too stupid or distracted to vote to improve their lives, and between people that are unhappy but looking for an emotional release. In the latter case, even though these folks are watching idiot tv, they will still vote for change because they know they are unhappy with the status quo.

In summary, this next election is not just about how the current crop of political types are doing their jobs, but is about whether the average voter knows what is happening in reality. Should be interesting, and somebody (even God?) help this country if the majority of voters are so stupid or distracted to continue the status quo!

but sorry to be the one to break the news to you: God cannot heal ignorance.

2. Brain dead voters aren't new
When Claude Pepper ran for the office in Florida in 1948, his opponent won by telling voters that Pepper's brother was a "homo sapien" and his sister was a "practicing heterosexual". Idiots are usually bigots, and this is an example of this.
