I mean come on now. Aren't these the same dickheads who were swearing that Saddam was getting ready to attack America with his drones made of balsa wood and duct tape and his Winnebagos of Death for Christs sake? About the only difference is that Bush and his minions have had time to get their own guys like "Great job Brownie.", in charge of all these "intelligence" services which is not a good sign.

Something smells funny here. Know what I mean?

1. it wasn't the intel community spewing that nonsesnse about saddam. the neocon warmongers were going
to war, no matter what. the "intel" was only an excuswe they made up for something they had been planning since 1991.

4. this "secrecy oath" originated in the Iran Contra hearings..
...when Republicans sought to require it of all members of the Intelligence Committee in order to stop the kind of patriotic leaks that informed Americans about the crimes of Iran Contra. The penalty for discussing the work of the committee is permanent expulsion from the committee.

5. The WH and NeoCons, it is believed, Cherry Picked the Intel
selecting only those portions which would support going to war
in Iraq.

Do not worry Bush carries the day with--Nothing has changed
Iran is still dangerous. Check out Dems parroting him.

In a few days it will be as though the NIE never happened.

Frankly I believe we would be better off with Intel Community
showing their Independence from WH.

See how long the NIE Report even is discussed.

6. I agree. They are kicking that can all over the street.
I believe they want to scramble all the eggs, only to drop the skillet and scatter all the shit on the kitchen floor.

"Well let's just start all over again, only this time we are gonna make a HUGE omelette. But we are going to hide the recipe."

7. It is a "leak" of the facts. Leak in the sense it was no longer containable info.
This is a matter of the facts getting out, in contravention of the statements of the one person who is supposed to know the facts, the Commander in Chief.

There is nothing new about the facts getting out in Washington. What is new is the ability to build the dike to such lofty heights, like the hyperbolist's mile-high ice cream cone. Well, Bush's mile-high ice cream cone just melted. Big surprise given he is called the Liar-in-Chief, eh?

If anything, this is just one more stain on the Intelligence Community and its reorganization under a unified command. That reorganizing seems to have served the political and false rhetoric needs of the lying Commander moreso than our National Intelligence interests.

This is the very opposite of rehabilitation. It is stinging indictment, and does not spin well in the direction you suggest. That indictment is a double jeapordy, stinging Bush as LIAR and Intel as politicized partner in the cover up of the truth. Confession does not rid the universe of the crime!

8. Hope you are right
I just can't imagine the leaders of a country giving up any weapons program with its neighbors to the east (Afghanistan) and to the west (Iraq) being turned into what reminds me of a set from a Mad Max movie by foreign invaders. It just doesn't make sense to me. I know that would not be my mindset under similar circumstances.

I am not trying to be obtuse though. I could very well have this theory all wrong.

See you later Mr. Coyote.
